Our impact
Getting families and individuals coping with cancer, back to the good stuff, by providing mental health therapy at any point during their treatment journey.
72,000+ Therapy Sessions
Since our inception in 2010, Flatwater has provided over 72,000 therapy sessions for those that would otherwise have no means to pay for care. We provide mental health therapy to both individuals and their families while navigating a cancer diagnosis.
Almost every Texan, whether connected personally or through loved ones, has been affected by cancer.
$8.5M+
To date Flatwater has covered over $8.5M dollars worth of therapy for people in need, touched by cancer in Central Texas.

Flatwater has placed over 3,000 individuals and families into care and currently has over 400 actively receiving mental health support.
THE NEED FOR mental health therapy
The need for mental health therapy in the wake of cancer has never been greater. Nearly 148,000 Texans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in 2024, up 6.5% from 139,000 new cases diagnosed in 2023. In the first few months of 2024 alone, Flatwater saw an unprecedented increase of new program participants, up 44% from 2023.
A Cancer diagnosis slams down, instantly creating ripples in a life.
The ripples immediately spread to others.
First to a spouse or partner. Then the kids. Parents. Siblings. The neighbors. Co-workers…
The ripples continue. Financially. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually.
The ripples disrupt every aspect of a life. Vacations. Careers. Weddings. Even something as simple as dinner plans.
But the ripples of a diagnosis are no match for the resources, services and network of professionals that Flatwater provides.
The ripples of cancer pale in comparison to the Mission we live every single day.
