THE NEED FOR mental health therapy

The need for mental health therapy in the wake of cancer has never been greater. Nearly 161,330 Texans are expected to be diagnosed with cancer in 2026, reflecting the ongoing increase in cancer across the state. As more individuals and families are impacted by a diagnosis, the need for accessible mental health support grows - for patients, survivors, caregivers, and loved ones navigating the emotional toll of cancer.

A Cancer diagnosis slams down, instantly creating ripples in a life.

The ripples immediately spread to others.

First to a spouse or partner. Then the kids. Parents. Siblings. The neighbors. Co-workers…

The ripples continue. Financially. Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually.

The ripples disrupt every aspect of a life. Vacations. Careers. Weddings. Even something as simple as dinner plans.

But the ripples of a diagnosis are no match for the resources, services and network of professionals that Flatwater provides.

The ripples of cancer pale in comparison to the Mission we live every single day.
